SmARTy Pants Rockford Kid's Art Studio was founded by Laura Gomel in December of 2014. 

Laura was educated at The American Academy of Art and also at Columbia College in Chicago. Upon moving to Rockford in 2010, Laura began teaching art after school with the Young Rembrandts program. 5 years later Laura decided to open her own school after observing the lack of real art education available to kids in the Rockford area. After multiple locations, smARTy Pants has come to rest in its permanent home inside 317 Art Collective, where Laura also teaches adults and makes fine art.
